Senator Rucker moved to amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting therefor a new title, to read as follows:

Eng. Com. Sub. for House Bill No. 2916 -- A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §5-3-6; to amend and reenact §6-3-1a of said code; and to amend said code by adding thereto a new section, designated §8-15-28, all relating to authorizing certain first responders to carry handguns while engaged in their official duties; authorizing Attorney General to authorize investigators employed by the Office of the Attorney General to carry handguns while engaged in their official duties; specifying the training required for them to be eligible to carry a handgun; authorizing sheriffs to allow reserve deputy sheriffs and supervising entities to allow firefighters and rescue squad members to carry handguns while engaged in their official duties; specifying the training required for them to be eligible to carry a handgun; and allowing reimbursement for the cost of the training.
